In 2017, I received my BSc. degree in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at the Eindhoven University of Technology after a final bachelor’s project in the group of prof. dr. Remco Tuinier under supervision of dr. Catarina Esteves and dr. Alessandro Ianiro. During this project I focused on controlling the self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers using water / ethanol mixtures and on the encapsulation of hydrophobic ingredients in the self-assembled structures. In 2019, I rejoined the group of prof. dr. Remco Tuinier under supervision of dr. Catarina Esteves and Stefan Govers, MSc. for my graduation project, which focused on the synthesis of low friction polyether-urethane coatings, characterization of their long-term stability in different immersion media (air, nitrogen, water), and characterization of the (change in) lubricious properties upon surface damage. I obtained my MSc. degree after a successful internship at BYK-Chemie GmbH in Wesel, Germany, where I worked on testing new catalysts for the polymerization of methacrylate monomer mixtures. In January 2020, I started my PhD in the group of prof. Anja Palmans, on the topic of single-chain polymeric nanoparticles, where I am currently investigating the interplay between the supramolecular self-assembly of BTA grafts and the UV-induced dimerization of coumarin grafts on the properties and characteristics of the formed single-chain polymeric nanoparticles in aqueous media.
