In 2020, I received my BSc. degree at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) after a bachelor’s final project in the group of prof. dr. Bert Meijer. During this project I focused on the self-assembly properties of a charged, asymmetric BTA with various small molecule additives. In the 2021, I rejoined the group for my graduation project which focused on targeting lamellar morphologies in siloxane-based block molecules. This was done using energy calculations on the crystal structure of the crystalline block in these block molecules. After this, I went to the University of Cambridge to do a research project in the group of prof. dr. Oren Scherman, where I focused on using energy transfer for various applications like polymer upcycling and photocatalysis. Afterwards I did my internship at the BASF headquarters in Ludwigshafen, where I worked on making sustainable, bio-based polymer resins. After obtaining my MSc. Degree in winter 2022, I started as a PhD student under the supervision of prof. dr. ir Anja Palmans. The aim of my project is to gain understanding of the dynamic covalent and supramolecular properties of (thio)acylsemicarbazide moieties, and to use these groups to make dynamic covalent networks for use in coatings and thin films.
